An experimental concept for reusable accessibility technology through computer vision techniques and audification technology.
ReAL sound is a general framework for analyzing games using automated computer vision techniques—transforming key visual information into audio data that can be parsed by visually impaired players. The system is unaware of the game's original source code and is platform agnostic.
The framework can help users build simple, reusable tools for implementing accessibility features into numerous games without requiring source code. A demonstration is provided through a prototype built in python using OpenCV—which analyzes Pong in real time and provides audio feedback, allowing blind players to complete the game successfully.
